How ATM GBPUSD Robot trades

The EA trades one market it knows well: GBP/USD on the 15-minute chart. It works in baskets:

  1. Trend filter. Two moving averages (periods 108 and 254) set the direction. It only trades with the trend, which is why every trade in a falling September market was a sell. In the backtest it opened 1,288 buys and 1,148 sells.
  2. Entry. It opens a small first position when the signal lines up and the spread is below the limit (6 pips by default).
  3. Adding. If price moves 10 pips, it adds a larger position. That improves the basket's average price, so a small move back is enough to finish in profit.
  4. Exit. The whole basket closes together at a profit target of 10 pips. Most baskets closed within hours.

That is where the high win rate comes from: the EA does not need price to run far, only to come back a few pips. It is also why the settings matter so much, as the next sections explain.

Live results are the proof; the backtest shows how the logic held up across a full year of different market conditions. In the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester (GBP/USD M15, every tick, 22 August 2022 to 21 August 2023, $1,000 deposit, Lots 0.01 and lots_limit 0.09):

Passed a $200,000 FTMO Challenge

In July–August 2023 the EA traded a $200,000 FTMO Challenge account and passed every objective: +$25,369.97 (+12.68%) profit against a $20,000 target, a worst day of −1.88% (the limit is −5%), and a maximum loss of −1.15% (the limit is −10%). Prop-firm rules change, so check your firm's current rules on grid and averaging strategies before you start.

Settings: choose how hard it pushes

Two inputs control almost everything: Lots (the first position) and lots_limit (the largest position it may add). The live account above is deliberately aggressive, to show what the strategy can do. For most traders we recommend the backtested settings:

SettingRecommended for $1,000Live account (aggressive)
Lots0.010.10
lots_limit0.093.00
TP_pips1010
equity_stoptruefalse
Stop_Loss_percent20–30—

Scale the lot sizes in proportion to your balance: $2,000 → 0.02 / 0.18, and so on.

Know the risks before you start

A strategy with a win rate this high always involves a trade-off, and you should know it before you buy:

  • No stop-loss on each trade. Individual positions carry no stop-loss. The protection is the equity stop (equity_stop = true), which closes everything if the account falls by the percentage you set. Turn it on.
  • Averaging. The EA adds to a losing basket. If GBP/USD keeps running against it without pulling back, the loss grows with every position added. Lot sizes and the equity stop decide how much you can lose.
  • Aggressive settings magnify everything. With 6 lots open, a move of about 40 pips against the basket could take a $2,600 account to zero without an equity stop. Start with the recommended settings.
  • Weekends. Baskets can stay open over the weekend, when price can gap on Monday's open.

Traders who use the recommended lots and the equity stop get the same strategy with far smaller swings. Past results, live or backtested, do not guarantee future results.

Who ATM GBPUSD Robot is for

  • Traders who want a fully automated GBP/USD system with a published live track record.
  • Traders who value a high win rate and fast-closing baskets, and accept an averaging approach.
  • Accounts of $200 or more ($1,000+ lets you use the standard settings without cutting the lot size).

It is not for traders who need a hard stop-loss on every single trade, or who cannot leave the equity stop switched on.

Frequently asked questions

What does ATM GBPUSD Robot v1 trade?

Only GBP/USD, on the M15 (15-minute) chart, on MetaTrader 4. Attach it to one GBP/USD M15 chart and it runs by itself.

Are the live results verified?

Yes. The account is a real RoboForex account tracked by Myfxbook, which reads the trades directly from the broker with an investor password. From 11 to 25 September 2026 it grew $1,000 to $3,037.72 over 28 trades.

What is the minimum deposit?

$200 is enough to start with small lots. $1,000 or more lets you run the recommended settings (Lots 0.01, lots_limit 0.09) without reducing the volume.

Does it use a stop-loss?

Individual trades have no stop-loss. The EA protects the account with an equity stop: set equity_stop to true and Stop_Loss_percent to the maximum loss you accept (we suggest 20–30%), and it closes every position if equity falls that far.

Is it a grid or martingale EA?

It is an averaging EA. It adds a larger position when price moves 10 pips against the first one, then closes the whole basket together in profit. The lots_limit input caps the largest position it can add.

Can I use it on a prop-firm account?

It passed a $200,000 FTMO Challenge in 2023. Many firms now restrict averaging strategies, so check your firm's current rules, use small lots and keep the equity stop on.

Which broker should I use?

Any MT4 broker with a low GBP/USD spread. The live account runs at RoboForex. Classic, ECN and PRO accounts all work.

Can I run it next to other EAs?

Yes. It only manages its own trades, identified by its magic number, so it can share an account with other Expert Advisors.
